The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged Leno Adesanya, the promoter of Sunrise Power and Transmission Limited, with "an alleged consipiracy and corrupt offer to public officers."
Adesanya is accused of three of seven count charges against former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, over a $6bn Mambilla hydropower contract. Agunloye was arraigned on seven charges, including fraudulent award of a contract and official corruption. Sunrise Power is in arbitration with Nigeria at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, alleging a breach of contract.
