Abia State University Student Hospitalized After Hot Water Attack by Fellow Student

A 200-level student of Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, identified as Chinedu Faithful Nwagbuo, has been hospitalized after suffering burns from a hot water attack reportedly carried out by a fellow female student.​

According to initial reports, the incident occurred during an altercation between Miss Nwagbuo and a 100-level female student, whose identity has not yet been disclosed. Although details surrounding the dispute remain unclear, the hot water inflicted significant injuries to the upper parts of Nwagbuo’s body.

 

Miss Nwagbuo is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Umuahia, where concerned fellow students and family members have been visiting her.​

Meanwhile, the alleged attacker has been taken into custody by the police to aid ongoing investigations. The management of Abia State University has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

 

This incident has sparked discussions on student safety and conflict resolution within university campuses. Many are calling for increased awareness and preventive measures to ensure such violent occurrences are curtailed.​
