Bandits Kill Driver, Kidnap Five Passengers in Zamfara Attack

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, armed bandits ambushed a commercial vehicle along the Bagega-Anka Road in Zamfara State, resulting in the death of the driver and the abduction of five passengers. The attack occurred around 11:40 a.m. when the assailants blocked the road, shot the driver, and kidnapped the passengers. This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Zamfara, where banditry and kidnappings have become increasingly prevalent.

The state has witnessed numerous attacks in recent months, including a deadly assault in the village of Gobirawa Chali, where at least 20 people were killed by armed men targeting a gold-mining site and surrounding areas. These incidents underscore the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect residents and travelers in the region.
