A Sharia Court sitting in Ningi, Bauchi State, has sentenced a man identified as Abdullahi Sani, to death by stoning for “homosexuality.”

The culprit was recently arrested and arraigned by the state police command for reportedly engaging in homosexual acts.

Th Judge, Abdullahi Aliyu Doya found Sani guilty of the crime as charged and sentenced him on Friday, May 10.

The Sharia Judge stated that the Court commenced hearing on the case on 02/05/2024 and closed it on Thursday, 09/05/2024, for judgment and sentence, after listening to various arguments.

Doya explained that based on witness testimonies and the defendant’s admission of guilt, Abdullahi Sani was found guilty and sentenced to death by stoning in accordance with the provisions of sections 131, 132, and 133 of the Bauchi State Administration of Criminal Justice, 2001.
