ECOWAS Demands Niger's Reinstatement

ECOWAS Heads of State and Government have decided to take military and financial actions against the unconstitutional takeover of the government in Niger. They demand the reinstatement of President Mohamed Bazoum within seven days, or the junta will face military intervention. Additionally, all land and air borders between ECOWAS nations and Niger will be closed, and the junta and its supporters will face financial sanctions and travel bans until democratic institutions are restored. President Bola Tinubu was commended for his strong stance on democracy during the extraordinary meeting in Abuja.
