Former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Patrick Adaba, Passes Away at 79

Chief Patrick Adaba, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, has passed away at the age of 79. He died on Sunday in Abuja after a prolonged illness.

 

Born in 1946, Chief Adaba pursued higher education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, along with a combined graduate certificate in Education.

 

He served as Secretary to the State Government during Prince Abubakar Audu's first tenure as Governor of Kogi State. In 1999, he was elected Deputy Governor, serving alongside Audu in a joint ticket that returned Audu to power.

 

The Kogi State Government expressed deep sorrow over Chief Adaba's passing, describing him as a statesman who played a significant role in the state's development. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo extended his condolences to the Adaba family and the people of Kogi State, acknowledging Chief Adaba's dedication to the state's progress both in and out of office.

 

Chief Patrick Adaba's contributions to Kogi State's governance and development will be remembered, and his legacy is expected to inspire future generations.
