A pastor abducted in Kaduna State has been released by his captors, who have now detained the church official that delivered the ransom.​

Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) was kidnapped from his residence in Mararaba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area, in the early hours of April 8, 2025. The abductors initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for his release.

Following negotiations, the kidnappers agreed to release Pastor Ali after receiving an undisclosed sum. However, they detained Yusuf Ambi, the church's financial secretary who delivered the ransom, and are now demanding additional payment for his release .

The Kaduna State Police Command has acknowledged the incident but has not provided further details at this time.
