The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and recovered four locally-fabricated AK-47 rifles in a series of coordinated operations across the state.

On April 17, 2025, acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Tafa Division apprehended 30-year-old Isa Ibrahim in Gida Abe. During interrogation, he confessed to being part of a kidnapping gang previously operating in Kwara State. Following the arrest of his accomplices in Kwara, Ibrahim relocated to Kaduna with the intent to establish a new gang.

Later that day, the Saminaka Division arrested two suspects, Sani Liman (23) and Murtala Magaji, also known as "Seto" (25), in Lamido village, Lere Local Government Area. Both individuals admitted to involvement in multiple kidnapping incidents within the region.

On April 18, 2025, two suspected arms dealers, Bajo Badun (40) from Plateau State and Magaji Abdullahi (40) from Kano State, were arrested in Ikara. They were found in possession of two fabricated AK-47 rifles.

Additionally, during a routine patrol along the Kauru-Pambegua Road, officers intercepted 30-year-old Ishiyaku Ali carrying a sack containing two locally-fabricated rifles and a long chain. He was promptly arrested.
All suspects are currently in custody and cooperating with ongoing investigations. The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, has urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to assist in combating criminal activities in the state.
