The Lagos State Police Command has successfully thwarted a robbery attempt along Layeni Ojo Road in Ajegunle, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. The individuals, identified as Azeez Anofi (alias "Stainless") and Damilare Obadia, both aged 25, were apprehended by operatives from the Layeni Division while attempting to hijack a tricycle, commonly known as Keke Marwa. ​

During the arrest, law enforcement officers recovered a locally made pistol and an expended cartridge from the suspects. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift action of the officers involved and urged the public to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. ​

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects and recover other weapons potentially linked to the criminal operation.
