Manchester City Advances to FA Cup Final After Defeating Nottingham Forest

Manchester City advanced to their third consecutive FA Cup final with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Early goals from Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol secured the win, keeping City's hopes alive for a trophy this season.

Lewis opened the scoring in just the second minute, converting a precise pass from Mateo Kovacic. Gvardiol doubled the lead early in the second half with a powerful header from a corner kick. Despite Forest's efforts, including three attempts that hit the woodwork, they couldn't find the net.

City dominated possession, especially in the first half, where Forest failed to register a single shot. Forest showed resilience in the second half but couldn't overcome City's control.

With this victory, Manchester City will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on May 17 at Wembley. Despite reaching the final, manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that winning the FA Cup would not redeem what he considers an overall disappointing season.
