As of now, there are no confirmed reports of NDLEA officers being shot during a raid in Abuja. However, there have been recent incidents involving NDLEA operatives in other regions:​

• Edo State Incident (December 2023): Three NDLEA officers were injured during a raid in Opuje forest, Owan West Local Government Area. The officers encountered armed resistance while attempting to dismantle cannabis warehouses. One officer sustained a head injury and underwent surgery to remove bullets from his brain. ​

• Delta State Incident (July 2023): An NDLEA operation in Asaba led to a confrontation where a fleeing vehicle knocked down an officer. In the ensuing attempt to stop the vehicle, a stray bullet fatally wounded a bystander. The agency has initiated an investigation into the incident.
