Transfer: Arokodare set new record at KRC Genk

Tolu Arokodare’s move to Premier League club, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be the most expensive outgoing in the history of Belgian Pro League outfit, KRC Genk,

 

Wolves has agreed to pay €27m for the Nigeria international, who will undergo medicals on Saturday (today).

 

Genk signed the forward from Ligue 2 club Amiens for just €5m in January 2023,and will make significant profit from the sale.

 

The Smurfs previous outgoing transfer record was held by Sander Berge, who moved to Sheffield United for €25m in 2020.

 

Kevin de Bruyne, and Arokodare’s compatriot Wilfred Ndidi are some of the other expensive outgoings in the history of the club.

 

Arokodare head into to the Molineux with huge expectations having emerged top scorer in the Belgian Pro League last season with 21 goals.

 

He will be the second Nigerian to play for the club after former Nigeria international, Seyi Olofinjana.
