Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca Handed Touchline Ban After Wild Celebration vs Fulham

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been handed a one-match touchline ban after receiving his third yellow card of the season during the Blues' dramatic 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday. The caution was issued by referee Anthony Taylor following Maresca's exuberant celebration of Pedro Neto's stoppage-time winner at Craven Cottage.

This suspension means Maresca will be absent from the dugout for Chelsea's upcoming Premier League home fixture against Everton on Saturday, April 26. Assistant manager and former goalkeeper Willy Caballero is expected to take charge on the touchline in his stead.

Maresca's previous yellow cards this season came during matches against Newcastle United and Bournemouth. The accumulation of three bookings has triggered the automatic one-match ban, as per Premier League regulations.

Reflecting on the incident, Maresca explained, "I was very happy, first of all because it's a nice feeling to win the game at the end but I think it was a moment for the players because they deserve to share that moment with the fans."

Chelsea's victory over Fulham propelled them into fifth place in the Premier League standings, bolstering their pursuit of Champions League qualification.

The Blues will aim to maintain their momentum in Maresca's absence when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
