During her trial at the Lagos High Court, Chidinma Ojukwu, the primary suspect in the death of Super TV CEO Usifo Ataga, provided a detailed account of the events surrounding his demise.
In a recorded video played in court, Ojukwu stated that she left the short-let apartment they shared and, upon returning, discovered Ataga's lifeless body. She claimed fear prevented her from calling for help and led her to flee the scene, taking some of Ataga's belongings with her.
Contradicting this account, an earlier confession by Ojukwu was also presented in court, where she admitted to killing Ataga alone. She described an altercation that escalated, resulting in her stabbing him multiple times.
Subsequently, Ojukwu recanted her confession, alleging it was made under duress. She testified that police officers coerced her into signing a prepared statement, threatening her and her family.
The trial continues as the court examines these conflicting narratives and the circumstances surrounding Ataga's death.
