FG Declares State of Emergency in Nigeria’s Health Sector

Nigeria's health sector has been declared a state of emergency by the Federal Government as stakeholders gather in Ekiti State for the 64th National Council on Health.
Nigeria news today disclosed that the council aims to address issues related to building resilience and an inclusive healthcare system for a healthy Nigeria. The coordinating minister for health and social welfare, Dr. Muhammed Ali Pate, emphasized the need for urgent intervention. The House of Representatives called for a state of emergency and significant votes in the 2024 budget. The crisis is exacerbated by a shortage of personnel, medical equipment, drugs, and qualified personnel.
