Fireboy DML Opens Up: Why My Tattoos Broke My Father's Heart

Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has candidly shared how his decision to get tattoos has strained his relationship with his father. In a recent appearance on the 90s Baby Show, the 29-year-old artist revealed that his father might never forgive him for tattooing his body. Fireboy mentioned that he often wears a jalabiya to cover his tattoos when his father visits, as seeing them breaks his father's heart. While his father is accepting of his piercings, the tattoos remain a significant point of contention.

Fireboy explained that his affinity for tattoos is a personal expression of art, independent of his music career. He stated that even if he had pursued a different profession, such as banking, he would still have chosen to get tattoos. For him, tattoos serve as a form of self-expression, allowing him to feel dressed and present even when shirtless.
