The Katsina State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KTSCHMA) has reported that they have successfully enrolled approximately 271,096 government employees in the healthcare scheme across the state. This update was shared by Hajiya Maimuna Kabir during a quarterly meeting of the Social Protection Technical Working Group (TWG) in Katsina. She also mentioned that the scheme has specific enrollment targets: 319,065 for the formal sector and 101,417 under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund. Among these enrollees, there are around 4,310 physically challenged individuals. Additionally, the agency has enrolled about 88,435 beneficiaries for basic healthcare services, including a significant number of physically challenged persons, under-5 children, vulnerable individuals, and pregnant women. The agency has also distributed identification cards and is planning to include retirees in the basic healthcare provision fund. This initiative is part of the National Social Protection Policy (NSPP), aimed at improving citizens' quality of life through effective resource utilization.
