Operatives attached to Township Police Divisional headquarters in Bauchi have arrested one Isyaku Babale, 30, for allegedly stabbing his brother to death during a heated argument.
The incident was said to have occurred on March 31 at the Anguwan Dawaki within Bauchi metropolis.
Spokesperson of the Command, Mohammed Wakil, explained in a statement on Monday that the suspect was apprehended near Kasuwan Shanu area following a manhunt by police operatives.
The statement claimed the suspect used a knife to fatally stab his elder brother after a disagreement over the use of ‘Sholi’ liquid, a drug substance, prompting a violent altercation between them.
Attempts at resolving the matter by neighbors proved abortive, as the suspect was said to have resorted to violence, stabbing his brother in the stomach.
It was also gathered that there had been a history of violence between the duo before the incident.
The statement further explained that detectives from the division were drafted to the scene of the incident, where the victim was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) before he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
