A Nigerian man, Chukwuka Nweke, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Italy for the rape and murder of 61-year-old Iris Setti. The incident occurred on August 5, 2023, in a public park in Rovereto, Trento.
 

Witnesses reported that Nweke, known for substance abuse, attacked Setti, striking her face and head with his fists and a blunt object. He fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after by the Carabinieri, who used tasers to subdue him. Setti was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries hours later. Nweke was convicted of aggravated murder, robbery, and sexual violence, leading to his life sentence.
