Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, expressed his readiness to re-present the 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly, despite being denied entry to the Assembly complex on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. 

Governor Fubara stated that he had informed Speaker Martins Amaewhule of his intention to visit and re-present the budget, following the Supreme Court's ruling on February 28, 2025. He expressed dissatisfaction over being locked out of the premises, noting that he had communicated his visit in advance. 

In response, the Chairman of the House Committee on Publicity, Hon. Enemi George, claimed that no formal communication had been received regarding the governor's visit. He emphasized that proper procedures, including formal documentation and appropriate attire for the Speaker and Clerk, must be followed for significant events like a budget presentation. 

This incident adds to the ongoing political tension between the executive and legislative branches in Rivers State, following the Supreme Court's recent decisions affecting the state's governance
