Davido recounts how Army and Immigration officials were all looking for him after he ran away from his father's house to chase music

Nigerian music star Davido recently recounted a pivotal moment from his early career when he ran away from home to pursue music, prompting his father to involve the military and immigration officials in a search for him.

At the time, Davido was living with his father in a 16-bedroom mansion. With his siblings abroad and his mother deceased, he secretly built a studio in the house, dedicating his time to making music and smoking, unbeknownst to his father. Feeling the pressure of hiding his passion, he eventually fled to London, staying with a producer friend for six months.

Upon his return to Nigeria, Davido intended to avoid his family, planning to stay with a friend. However, as soon as he stepped out of the airport, he was approached by an army officer who escorted him outside, where his father and other uniformed men were waiting. Contrary to his expectations of reprimand, his father embraced him warmly, expressing relief at his return.

This heartfelt reunion gave Davido the courage to confess his true aspirations. He told his father that he wasn't interested in continuing his education and was committed to pursuing a career in music.
