Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed confidence that Kano State is firmly secured for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. He attributes this assurance to the strategic influence of key party figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Senator Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters.
During a visit to Senator Lado's office at the National Assembly, Akpabio commended him for facilitating seamless and confidential communication between the Executive and the Senate, highlighting the absence of information leaks since Lado's appointment. He emphasized the importance of confidentiality in governance, noting that leaks can undermine national security and decision-making.
Akpabio also praised Lado's role in enhancing collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature, describing his performance over the past eight months as unprecedented. In response, Senator Lado expressed gratitude for Akpabio's leadership and support, emphasizing the significance of unity and cooperation in advancing national progress.
This development underscores the APC's strategic positioning in Kano State as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
