The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared four individuals wanted in connection with the alleged Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) fraud, which reportedly defrauded thousands of Nigerians.

Individuals Declared Wanted

The EFCC has named the following individuals as wanted:

  • Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun

  • Adefowora Oluwanisola

  • Emmanuel Uko

  • Seyi Oloyede

These individuals are accused of promoting CBEX through their company, ST Technologies International Limited, by advertising and luring unsuspecting members of the public to invest in cryptocurrencies on the CBEX platform, promising unrealistic returns of up to 100% .

Legal Actions and Court Orders

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the EFCC permission to arrest and detain six CBEX promoters over an alleged $1 billion investment fraud. The six suspects named in the court order include the four individuals listed above, as well as Avwerosuo Otorudo and Chukwuebuka Ehirim .

Impact on Investors

Reports emerged in April 2025 that CBEX users could no longer withdraw their funds, leading to significant financial losses for many investors. In response, angry investors reportedly stormed and looted the office of Smart Treasure (ST Team), an affiliate of CBEX, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

EFCC's Call for Public Assistance

The EFCC has urged anyone with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted individuals to contact the Commission at its offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, or Port Harcourt .
