Eid-El-Fitr: Sultan Urges Prayers, Support for Leaders Amid Insecurity Concerns

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged Nigerians to continue praying for and supporting leaders at all levels to foster national growth and development. In his Sallah message delivered after the Eid-El-Fitr prayers, he emphasized the importance of constructive criticism over frivolous attacks on leaders striving to address the nation's challenges.

Expressing concern over ongoing security issues, the Sultan commended security forces for their efforts and called on citizens to pray for peace and an end to rising insecurity. He also praised the Sokoto State Government for its transformative projects and support for residents during Ramadan, highlighting the assistance provided to orphans and widows for Sallah celebrations.

Similarly, various governors across Nigeria have encouraged Muslims to use the Eid-El-Fitr occasion to pray for peace and unity in the country. They emphasized the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, love, and obedience, urging citizens to promote harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Furthermore, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) extended warm congratulations to the Muslim community, emphasizing unity, national harmony, and a collective commitment to justice. CAN highlighted shared values between Christians and Muslims, noting that prayer, fasting, charity, and community strengthen the bonds between the two religious groups and serve as pillars for a united Nigeria.

Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, serves as a reminder of the importance of unity, prayer, and mutual support in overcoming national challenges.
