The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended two suspected drug dealers and seized a significant quantity of tramadol tablets valued at approximately ₦3.5 million.
Acting on credible intelligence, law enforcement officers arrested 27-year-old Murtala Salisu from Bare-bari village in Safana Local Government Area on March 20, 2025, at around 4:00 PM. Salisu was found in possession of 2,084 sachets of suspected tramadol tablets.
During interrogation, Salisu confessed to obtaining the illicit drugs from an individual identified as "Rabe" in Nasarawa State. He also implicated an accomplice, Tanimu Abubakar from Jibia Local Government Area, who was subsequently arrested.
The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, CP Bello Shehu, reaffirmed the command's commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of residents. He urged the public to support law enforcement efforts by providing timely and valuable information.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
