The airline emphasized that this gesture is "no strings attached" and does not affect passengers' rights to pursue further legal action.

The incident involved a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft arriving from Minneapolis. Upon landing, the plane skidded on the icy runway, flipped upside down, and caught fire. All 80 individuals on board, including four crew members, survived. Twenty-one passengers were hospitalized, with only one remaining under medical care as of Wednesday.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the cause of the crash, considering factors such as unprecedented weather conditions.

This compensation approach is not unprecedented; for instance, passengers of US Airways Flight 1549, which landed on the Hudson River in 2009, received immediate compensation following the incident.
