NNPC Warns of Legal Action Over False Allegations on Fuel Quality

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has refuted allegations made in a viral video claiming that petrol from its stations is of inferior quality compared to that from the Dangote Refinery. In the video, an influencer conducted an experiment suggesting that fuel purchased from an NNPCL station powered a generator for a shorter duration than fuel from an MRS station, which sources its petrol from the Dangote Refinery.

The NNPCL dismissed these claims as "false and misleading," emphasizing that a significant portion of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at its Lagos retail stations is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, which adheres to strict industry standards. The company warned that it will take legal action against individuals or groups intentionally spreading false information about its products and operations. The NNPCL urged the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information and reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality fuel that meets global standards.
