The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has consistently reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding educational institutions across the nation. In a recent initiative, the NSCDC organized a one-day Safe School workshop aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of its personnel to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and the learning environment. The Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, emphasized the importance of such training in achieving effective service delivery. 

Furthermore, the NSCDC has launched the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre, underscoring its commitment to the Federal Government's Safe Schools Programme. This initiative aims to put an end to attacks on schools and the kidnapping of students. The Corps has also conducted a vulnerability survey of all schools in the country, publishing statistics to inform necessary actions. 

In the North Central region, the NSCDC inaugurated the Safe School Response Team, a special squad comprising officers from various security agencies, to protect schools from attacks. This move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen security operations across educational institutions in the region. 

Additionally, the NSCDC has been proactive in training its personnel, with security experts conducting sessions to enhance the effectiveness of school protection measures. These efforts are part of a comprehensive approach to ensure a safe teaching and learning environment throughout Nigeria.
