Nottingham Forest Stun Man Utd, Saka Shines in Arsenal Win

On April 1, 2025, Nottingham Forest secured a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League. The decisive goal came early, as former United player Anthony Elanga scored just five minutes into the match, embarking on a solo run covering two-thirds of the pitch. Despite Manchester United's efforts, including a first-half header from Diogo Dalot that hit the crossbar and a late attempt by substitute Mason Mount that went wide, they couldn't find an equalizer. This win propels Nottingham Forest further in their campaign, now eight points ahead of Chelsea in third place, while Manchester United sits in 13th position.

In another Premier League fixture on the same day, Arsenal defeated Fulham 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Merino opened the scoring for Arsenal in the first half. A significant moment came when Bukayo Saka, returning from a three-month injury layoff, scored just seven minutes after being substituted into the game, marking his 68th goal for the club and his first as a substitute. This victory extended Arsenal’s unbeaten home record against Fulham to 121 years. However, the match also saw defender Gabriel Magalhaes suffer a hamstring injury, which may sideline him for the remainder of the season. Arsenal remains second in the Premier League, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
