On February 17, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced a crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, arriving from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, overturned upon landing, resulting in the plane coming to rest upside down on the runway. Despite the severity of the incident, all 80 individuals on board—76 passengers and 4 crew members—survived. Eighteen people sustained injuries, none of which were critical.
Following the crash, 21 passengers were transported to hospitals for medical evaluation. As of February 18, 2025, Delta Air Lines reported that 19 of these passengers have been discharged, with the remaining two expected to be released soon.
Newly released footage from the incident shows the aircraft skidding along the runway, flipping over, tearing off a wing, and catching fire. Passengers were seen escaping through the upside-down doors amidst the cold, flames, and snow.
The crash occurred under challenging weather conditions, including high winds and low temperatures following a snowstorm. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash
