A video circulating on social media shows protesters in a car displaying a banner that reads, "Enough is enough, we say no to overpriced house rents. We say no to housing agents. Agents of darkness." ​

The protest highlights growing frustration among Lagosians over the financial burden of securing rental accommodations. Many tenants have expressed concerns about arbitrary rent hikes and additional charges such as caution fees and inspection fees, which are often demanded by agents.

Officials have declared certain fees illegal and are advocating for rent reductions to alleviate the pressure on residents.
