Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has enacted the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (Establishment and Consolidation of Revenue Administration) Law, 2025, aimed at streamlining tax collection and eliminating multiple taxation within the state.
This legislation establishes a centralized system for tax collection, providing a single point of payment for taxpayers, including market traders and businesses, thereby reducing bureaucratic hurdles.
The law also grants autonomy to the Enugu State Inland Revenue Service, enabling it to operate independently and professionally. Governor Mbah emphasized that this move is part of his administration's efforts to enhance the Ease of Doing Business in Enugu State and to position it as a premier investment destination.
