The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illicit drugs worth over ₦1 billion during a raid on an 80-room hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The operation, conducted between April 25 and 26, 2025, targeted The Hook Hotel, also known as Caesar Hotel and Caesar Lounge, located at 16 Waziri Ibrahim Street.
During the raid, NDLEA operatives recovered 589 bags of "Canadian Loud," a potent strain of cannabis, weighing a total of 417.3 kilograms. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is ₦1,042,500,000. Three suspects—Eze Ayitu, Ofuokwu Samuel, and Emmanuel Ameh—were arrested on-site, while two others, Noble Philip and his partner Kenneth, are currently at large.

In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted over two million pills of opioids in Kano and Jigawa states. Acting on intelligence, officers seized consignments of tramadol and pregabalin being transported from Kano to Niger Republic and Yobe State. Two suspects were arrested, and a subsequent operation led to the arrest of the supplier in Kano, where additional pills were discovered and evacuated.
Additionally, NDLEA intercepted a shipment of 46 wraps of cocaine weighing 547 grams hidden in body cream at a courier firm in Lagos. Another consignment, including 1.8 kg of pentazocine injection and 60 grams of bromazepam tablets destined for Canada, was also seized.
At the Seme border area in Badagry, Lagos, three Ghanaian women were arrested while attempting to smuggle 4.8 kilograms of "Ghana Loud," a potent strain of cannabis, into Nigeria. The suspects are identified as Haziza Zubairu (42), Samirat Mustapha (43), and Jamila Salifu (26).
NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the efforts of the officers and men involved in these operations, emphasizing the agency's commitment to reducing both the supply and demand of illicit drugs across the country.
