Police Rescue 10 Kidnapped Victims, Arrest Notorious Criminal in Coordinated Operations

In a series of coordinated operations across Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has successfully rescued ten kidnapped victims and apprehended a notorious criminal suspect, demonstrating its commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety.

On April 19, 2025, officers from the Faskari Division of the Katsina State Police Command thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Funtua-Gusau highway. Engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle, the operatives forced the assailants to flee with gunshot wounds. The swift response resulted in the rescue of ten victims, including two drivers and eight passengers, who were unharmed and later reunited with their families.

In a separate operation on April 18, 2025, officers from Taraba State's State Intelligence Department (SID), in collaboration with local vigilantes, arrested 40-year-old Umar Ahmad at a roadblock in Jalingo. Ahmad, a long-wanted criminal linked to multiple kidnappings, led detectives to Mayo Faran village in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area. There, investigators recovered two AK-47 rifles, eight magazines, and 39 rounds of ammunition.

These operations underscore the NPF’s proactive efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of Nigerian citizens. The Force continues to urge the public to provide timely information to aid in the fight against criminal activities.
