British comedian and actor Russell Brand has been formally charged by the Metropolitan Police with multiple sexual offenses. The charges include one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault, involving four women. The alleged incidents occurred between 1999 and 2005 in locations such as Bournemouth and Westminster, London. ​

These charges follow an investigation initiated in September 2023 after a joint report by The Sunday Times and Channel 4's "Dispatches" program, where five women accused Brand of assaults occurring between 2006 and 2013. ​

Brand, aged 49, has publicly denied all allegations. In a video posted on social media, he acknowledged past struggles with sex and drug addiction but asserted that all his sexual activities were consensual.

He is scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates' Court on May 2, 2025. Authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward, emphasizing that the investigation remains ongoing. ​
