Ebonyi Government Official Abducted by Armed Men Disguised as Soldiers

On April 3, 2025, around midnight, Mrs. Blessing Adagba, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was abducted from her residence in the Okposhi Eheku community. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, disguised as soldiers, demanded entry into her home. When she hesitated, questioning their presence at such an hour, they brandished firearms, overpowered her, and took her to an unknown location. ​

 

The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the incident. According to SP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesperson, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been deployed and is working diligently to secure Mrs. Adagba's immediate release.

 

Community leaders and residents have expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of abductions in the area and are calling for enhanced security measures to protect the populace.

 

Efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue Mrs. Adagba, and the authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward to assist in the investigation.​
