Shock in Kogi as APC Zonal Chairman Omika Mohammed Dies at 45

The Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East Senatorial District, Omika Mohammed, has died at the age of 45. Mohammed, who assumed the position a few months ago replacing Nasir Agbodu, reportedly passed away under mysterious circumstances.

 

According to family members, Mohammed was resting at his residence in Lokoja when he suddenly called for help, expressing a sudden loss of strength, and died shortly thereafter. ​

 

The State Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Bello, confirmed the incident, noting he was informed by the Deputy Governor of the State, Joel Oyibo, while he was in Lagos.

 

Deputy Governor Joel Salifu expressed deep shock over Mohammed's sudden passing, describing him as a gentleman who served the party diligently and contributed significantly to its growth and success in the zone. ​

 

Born on October 1, 1980, in Oduh Ogboyaga, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Mohammed is survived by his wife and six children. He has been buried according to Islamic rites.
