Allegations Surrounding VeryDarkMan's Departure from China

Recent reports have emerged regarding Nigerian online activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, and his recent activities in China.

VDM traveled to China with the stated mission of combating fraud affecting Nigerian business owners dealing with Chinese suppliers. He expressed concerns over frequent complaints of scams in business transactions between Nigerians and Chinese suppliers.

Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu claimed that VDM was invited by Chinese police for interrogation on March 2, 2025. Maduagwu questioned the reasons behind the interrogation and called on Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look into the matter.

While specific details about VDM's situation are scarce, it's important to note that China has strict regulations that can lead to deportation. These include overstaying a visa, working without proper authorization, involvement in illegal activities such as drug use or distribution, engaging in activities deemed harmful to China's national security, and participation in violent incidents or public disturbances.

There have been instances where foreigners were deported from China for various reasons. For example, in 2013, Beijing authorities deported 200 foreigners, primarily due to illegal employment violations. Additionally, cases have included deportations related to drug-related offenses and public disturbances.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding VDM's deportation from China. The lack of concrete information has led to speculation and uncertainty about his current situation.

While allegations suggest that VeryDarkMan faced issues during his visit to China, including possible police interrogation, concrete details remain unverified. Without official confirmation, it's challenging to ascertain the accuracy of these claims. It's advisable to await further updates from reliable sources for a clearer understanding of the situation.
