Southampton's Managerial Changes Amid Relegation

Southampton Football Club has parted ways with manager Ivan Juric following their relegation from the Premier League. Juric, appointed in December 2024 to replace Russell Martin, managed only two wins in 16 matches, resulting in the team's demotion with seven games remaining.

During Juric's brief 107-day tenure, Southampton secured just four league points, averaging 0.29 points per game—the lowest for any manager overseeing ten or more matches in Premier League history.

In the interim, first-team coach Simon Rusk has been appointed as head coach for the remainder of the season, with veteran midfielder Adam Lallana, 36, taking on the role of player-assistant coach.

The club has initiated the search for a permanent manager, with potential candidates including Sheffield Wednesday's Danny Röhl, Strasbourg's Liam Rosenior, and former Norwich boss David Wagner.

Southampton's relegation marks a challenging period for the club, which had recently been promoted from the Championship. The management changes reflect efforts to rebuild and prepare for the upcoming season in the second tier of English football.
