The rescue operation was conducted by police operatives in the Dakingari forest of Suru Local Government Area, following a meticulous tracking of the kidnappers.
Deputy Governor Senator Umar Tafida, accompanied by Commissioner of Police Sani Bello and FUBK Vice Chancellor Professor Zaiyan Muhammad, visited the site of the abduction to assess the situation firsthand. Senator Tafida reaffirmed the state's commitment to ensuring the safety of students across all tertiary institutions in Kebbi. He also confirmed that Madubiya has been taken to the hospital for a comprehensive medical examination.
Commissioner of Police Sani Bello provided additional details, stating that the kidnappers abandoned the student due to sustained pressure from law enforcement agencies. He emphasized that no ransom was paid for Madubiya's release.
This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, particularly concerning the safety of students residing off-campus. The state government and university authorities are urged to collaborate on enhancing security measures to prevent future occurrences.
