Solanke's Penalty Sends Spurs to Europa League Semi-Finals

Dominic Solanke's first-half penalty secured Tottenham Hotspur's progression to the Europa League semi-finals with a 1-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, culminating in a 2-1 aggregate win. The decisive moment came just before halftime when Solanke calmly converted from the spot after a VAR-reviewed foul on James Maddison by Frankfurt goalkeeper Kauã Santos.

Despite missing captain Son Heung-min due to injury, Spurs delivered a resilient defensive performance. Key contributions from Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario—who made a crucial late save—ensured the clean sheet.

This victory marks Tottenham's first European semi-final appearance since 2019. They will face Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt in the next round.

Manager Ange Postecoglou praised his team's effort, stating, "We had to defend, but we defended. We had our moments going forward, and I think over the two legs, we deserve to go through to the semis."
