On Saturday evening, April 19, 2025, eight armed gunmen ambushed a Toyota Sienna minibus en route from Abuja to Offa, Kwara State, abducting seven passengers, including the driver. The attack occurred around 6:30 p.m. along the Obbo-Aiyegunle/Osi Road in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The vehicle, operated by Olumoh Express and registered as FFA 50 XD, was intercepted by the assailants who forcibly took seven occupants into the surrounding bush. Three children traveling with the victims were left behind and later rescued by police and local vigilantes. ​

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the incident and initiated a coordinated search and rescue operation. The abandoned vehicle was recovered and moved to the nearest police formation. ​
