The Ogun State Government has expressed strong disapproval of the recent actions of controversial hip-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable. Portable allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) during a routine inspection at his bar in the Iyana Ilogbo area of Ota. The government described Portable as a "serial dissident and unrepentant rascal" and emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and will be addressed in accordance with the law. 

In response to the incident, Portable reportedly went into hiding. The police have arrested several suspects connected to the assault, and there are indications that Portable will face arrest and prosecution if apprehended. 

Following these events, the Ogun State Government sealed Portable's bar, ODOWGU, citing issues such as unapproved development and insufficient airspace. Portable expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, claiming that over 20 individuals, including artists and customers, were detained, and their vehicles, motorcycles, and phones were seized. He also alleged that the government sealed his new, unfinished building and hotel. Portable appealed to the government to reconsider their decision, highlighting his contributions to the community, including installing streetlights and facilitating road repairs. 

The Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to upholding the law and maintaining order, emphasizing that any individual flouting the law will face the full consequences, regardless of their social status or influence.
